Update 11 – 16 Hours to Go!
– Wed, Dec 14, 2022 at 02:10:42 PM
We have about 16 hours left in our Kickstarter and about $3,000 until we hit our next stretch goal…
We thought we’d take this opportunity to share another cool project on Kickstarter from our friend, Marco! If you’d like to add some seafaring goodness to your 5e game, check out his new Kickstarter (already funded!) Witches of the Sea: A 5E Compendium of Seafaring and Magic!
Let the sacred song of Change run inside of you. Learn to wield your ruinous powers with discipline and harmony, or abandon yourself to the entropic tides of Change. How will you wield the powers of your unfathomable god? The choice is yours alone.
Witches of the Sea is a 24+ page Compendium for 5e that features new spells, new magic items, a new deity, and rules for an exclusive new Divine Domain: Change, a mystical, powerful, and playable subclass for Fifth Edition, written and designed by the prize-winning author of Big Empty Blue. Community-tested and approved!
Also included is plenty of original art and extra content by some of the most amazing illustrators for RPGs, a lore-dense player's and DM's guide for a new deity: the Shepherd of Salt, new monsters, and prompts for mysterious locations, encounters, and treasures lying in the nefarious seas of Change.
Guide your party into the dangerous shimmer currents of the oceanic thresholds. Discover the majestic sea sheep islands, the labyrinthine prototaxite forests, the deadly brine pools, cemeteries of the abyss, and much, much more.

“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent.”
― Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, A Case of Identity
We did it! We reached $35,000, so the PDF adventure by Amboria author Richard Rohlin will be part of everyone’s rewards for this Kickstarter! We have just under 40 hours to go and two more stretch goals on the horizon…
At $40,000, Space 1889: After designer Darrell Hayhurst will return to the setting with an all-new PDF adventure, “The Dire Engines of Aethra,” – which follows the threat of mechanical pirates headed for a distant asteroid!
At $45,000, J-M DeFoggi of Strange Owl Games will contribute his Space 1889: After adventure to the line, as well, which… if you’re keeping count, will mean you’ll get five extra adventures to run for your group!
Less than 40 hours to go… let’s see where we end up.
Thank you all for your support!

And we continue to pick up steam in this last week of the Space 1889: After Kickstarter! Thank you from all of us at Strange Owl Games.
Let’s see what’s out there on the ether horizon!
You’ve unlocked the Custom Order Deck for the Empyrean edition as a physical add-on. We’ll be using DriveThruCards to fulfill these physical card orders. Bob Crum designed an amazing card back for the deck, the draft of which we’re including here:
This physical deck is available as an add-on for $12.
At $35,000, we have another Free Adventure PDF stretch goal, this one written by Richard Rohlin. Richard wrote and designed Strange Owl Games’ next RPG release – Amboria: Roleplaying in the World Under Starlight, and he is a fan of steampunk and planetary romance adventures. We are excited to give you a glimpse into his vast imagination with this adventure for Space 1889: After!
At $40,000, we’ll add a fourth PDF Adventure for the game. These PDF Adventures are compatible with both game systems.
Thank you all again for your support; we have several more goals to hit before the end of this crowdfunding. Stay tuned!

“To me, there always seems a way to gain the opposite side of an obstacle. If one cannot pass over it, or below it, or around it, why then there is but a single alternative left, and that is to pass through it.”
― Edgar Rice Burroughs, John Carter: Adventures on Mars
Hail, Ether Explorers!
We cruised right past our previous stretch goal and are now adding the Space 1889: After solitary adventure PDF written by Rachel Savicki to all pledge levels!
At $30,000, we’ll unlock the Order Deck as a physical add-on… and another new adventure at $35,000!
We have additional stretch goals planned, and are working tirelessly to get them in place to reveal once we reach $35,000.
Sending so much gratitude and thanks for supporting this project,
Strange Owl Games

“Very simple was my explanation, and plausible enough—as most wrong theories are!”
― H.G. Wells, The Time Machine
Thanks to you, we have unlocked another stretch goal—the Ether Ship Deck Plans by artist Bob Crum! Bob will provide layouts for each ship detailed in the core book. We are very excited to provide this to all our backers!
Next up, at $27,500, is a Solitary Adventure by Rachel Savicki. Rachel is a collaborating author on Space 1889: After. Much like a Choose Your Own Adventure, you can play the Solitary Adventure without other players or a GM. It is a great way to experience Space 1889: After for the first time.
At $30,000, we’ll unlock the physical Order deck, which will be available as a print add-on.
We also have an exciting new add-on! We’ve partnered with our friends at AudioRPG to produce a complete, high-quality audiobook for the 5e version of Space 1889: After using professional narrators and skilled sound technicians. Own one of the first ever audiobooks created specifically for role-playing gamers with this digital add-on for $30.
We have 10 days left in this Kickstarter, and plenty more stretch goals to reveal!
